Petrified Forest Adventure
When we first got our RV, the first trip we took was to Holbrook, Arizona, USA to see the Petrified Forest National Park. We had a lot of fun, and I made a few videos that you can watch below.
We took a few hikes while visiting the Petrified Forest as part of trip to Holbrook, Arizona. The first one was around the Giant Logs Trail which is the only one that has a printed guide available. It also has a nice scenic overlook at the end. The second hike was around Crystal Forest, which contained more interesting views and petrified logs. We also saw other points of interest like the Agate Bridge, and were surrounded by the Painted Desert.
We got to see a lot of awesome rocks and minerals in a lot of different shapes and sizes; including massive tree trunks. The Petrified Forest is an all-day adventure, and maybe even a multi-day adventure if you want to make sure to see it all in detail. It even includes many hiking trails, that take you through parts of the painted desert. These include the Giant Log Trail, Crystal Forest, Blue Mesa, Agate Bridge, Pueblo Ruins, A number of amazing overlooks, and more.
Driving the entire Petrified Forest takes sometime, but you’ll get to see a lot of the beautiful landscapes this large park has to offer; including portion of the Painted Desert. It definitely takes an entire day to just see half of this park, but you can get a good idea of what it’s like in that day. If you want to hike all the trails you might want to plan on three or four days.
