State Park #2 – Tonto Natural Bridge

Arizona has 35 state parksThat will keep us busy for a while. Arizona is a pretty cool place to live, this is not totally new information. I grew up here, if you can get through the sweltering summers, the rest of the year is quite nice. Standing back I’m realizing we have 22 national and 35 state parks plus alot of other really cool…blah blah. I’m so crazy focused on the PARKS! I love the time we are spending together as a family…hiking, learning, bonding. It’s awesome.

I was hoping to spend our Park Saturday in Montezuma Castle today. Plans changed, we needed to be home by 4 and I didn’t think we would have enough time in Montezuma Castle and Well. We ended up at Tonto Natural Bridge State Park instead.

Hiked…

A nice lady took a family picture for us (it helped that we had the same cameras!)

I turned around to see this…Like father…like son…everybody has a camera!

The weather was incredible. 70 degrees. We were actually cold, we are still dressing like it is summer. We learned to start packing our sweatshirts. The only drawback of the day was the price…$22 for 4 of us, the youngest was free. I guess I need to invest in a state park annual pass.

Our family listened to Bomb: The Race to Build -and Steal – the World’s Most Dangerous Weapon by Steve Sheinkin during the drive. What an interesting topic for the 2013 Newbery Honor book. We are enjoying the Audible book and found out that there are 3 National Historic parks that we can visit one day that are about the Manhattan project.
