State Park #1 – Jerome State Historic Park

Our very first park Saturday

I’m so bummed. We went to our first state park back in July. I somehow managed to miss a picture with the kids and the sign. We did manage a family selfie. Jerome State Historic Park is an old mansion that has a ghost narrating a movie! The Junior Ranger pamphlet was set up with numbers on a map that corresponded to certain locations in the museum. We walked to that location in order to answer questions. My favorite room in the building was the bathroom. Strange I know, the cabinets reminded me of my great-grandparents home and I want a claw foot bathtub someday. Kids earned their first Jr Ranger badge, and my love of parks begins.

At the time of this trip our family was listening to The Inquisitor’s Tale: Or, The Three Magical Children and Their Holy Dog by Adam Gidwitz. This is a 2017 Newbery honor book that my family enjoyed.
