Catalina State Park, Tucson, Arizona, and Mod Pizza
Catalina State Park, Oro Valley, Arizona

We stopped off at Arizona’s Catalina State Park after visiting the Camping World in Tucson and then headed to Mod Pizza on Oro Valley.

We didn’t explore much, but it looks like it’s mostly just a camping and hiking park. The kids loved seeing the snakes in the visitor’s center, along with the other toys. They have a stuffed snake and an Arizona Mountain Kingsnake (Lampropeltis pyromelana) that apparently likes to eat rattlesnakes.

After we drove around the park we headed to Mod Pizza for dinner. They have a great thin crust that is gluten-free, and a pesto sauce that is incredibly good. It’s a bit pricey but great if you want a good pizza that’s actually healthy.
